When Robyn and Eldrinn pulled up to Lincoln’s Rock in the Blue Mountains, they had no idea what was about to unfold (Robyn didn’t at least!). What started as a supposed couples shoot turned into one of the most heart-stopping surprise proposals we’ve had the honour of capturing at EMKA Studios.
Set against the dramatic cliffside views of Lincoln’s Rock, with the golden light pouring over the sandstone and valley below, this moment had a cinematic love story written all over it.
Planning the Surprise at One of the Blue Mountains’ Most Iconic Proposal Spots
Lincoln’s Rock has quickly become a favourite location for proposal photography in the Blue Mountains and for good reason. The views stretch endlessly across the Jamison Valley, making it a picture-perfect setting for any memorable milestone.
In the days leading up to the shoot, we worked closely with Eldrinn to choreograph the timing, the set-up, and most importantly, the distraction tactics.

We arrived early to scope the location, test lighting, and coordinate a subtle cue so we could be in the right position to capture every raw, authentic second. None of those stiff poses, or awkward staging. Just real emotion.
